Frequency Converter Chip
To this day direct-diode laser technology has barely reached the UVC range with key performance metrics such as power, lifetime and efficiency still being a challenge in most diode lasers below 300 nm.
With our approach the excellent performance of visible light laser diodes carries over to the UV, in a robust and compact solid state integrated form factor.

How does the Frequency Converter Chip work
- Once coupled to the waveguides on the frequency converter the pump is guided across the chip, ensuring a long and highly localized interaction zone.
- Phase-matching is ensured across the chip for a wide range of wavelengths, with no requirement of single-mode input.
- The converted signal is emitted out at an angle dependent on the pump wavelength and waveguide geometry.
- The frequency converter allows for second harmonic generation (SHG) as well as sum frequency generation (SFG)
